common marketing mistakes for small businesses
Your online presence can either help or hurt your business. Are you making any of these common marketing mistakes?
1. Not paying attention to consumer reactions.

What are your clients or consumers saying? Social listening is a huge part of your marketing! From answering Google Reviews to responding to comments on social media, pay attention to what your customers are saying. Engaging with consumers online also helps to create a community and makes every client feel important and heard.

2. Not developing a social media strategy.

Strategy, Strategy, Strategy! We cannot stress the importance of this enough. If you don’t have a strategic plan for your social media platforms you will not reach your full growth potential.

3. Being inconsistent with your content.

A consistent posting schedule is the first step to growing your platforms. It is also important to stay within your niche, or on brand to what your business does. Consistency is key!

4. Relying on paid advertising only.

Paid ads can be beneficial to some businesses, but they quickly become expensive. Organic, or unpaid, growth is extremely important to focus on.

5. Using the wrong hashtags or too many of them.

Don’t get spammy. Try to stick to 10-15 hashtags on Instagram & Facebook, and no more than 5 on Linkedin and TikTok.

6. Using the wrong social media platforms.

Where should your business be? Everywhere your consumers are! If your demographic is not on TikTok, why are you? If your demographic is primarily on Instagram, you should be there too. Stay top of mind at all times by simply being present on the same platforms your customers are.
