When is the last time you thoroughly looked over your website? Every business owner should audit their own website at least once a year. Here are 5 simple tips for beginning your own website audit:
1. Test All Links & Buttons
Are all links working? Do external links open in a new tab? Are the social icons appropriately linked?
2. Spelling & Grammar
Read over all of the text and headlines on your website. Is everything spelled correctly?
3. Mobile-Friendly Design
How does the design look from desktop to mobile? Is anything cut off, or missing? Pull up the website on your computer and your phone to check this.
4. Check Your SSL Certificate
Does it have a little lock icon in the browser? This shows visitors it is safe to browse. Some browsers will prevent users from visiting sites that do not have an SSL certificate.
5. Test Your Contact Form
Submit a test contact form. Does it go to the right place? Do you get an email confirmation?
